MONOCHROME LOVE

This cardigan was purchased on one of those occasions when your not intentionally shopping however you come across something that you love and just have to have it! I was on my way to the German Market in Birmingham last December and I spied this gorgeous monochrome Ikat cardigan in the Primark concession in Selfridges. I do love going to the large Primark and having a good explore to find some great pieces however it is quite refreshing sometimes to have a curated collection of gems in the Selfridges concession. I love this cardigan because it is stylish, keeps me warm and I love the neckline. The print match at the front is perfect and I do love the big pockets, it really is a fabulous find.

SKULLS IN THE CITY

I'm the girl that loves skulls, black, hello kitty, pink, mushrooms and sparkly things. There is a long list of things I love however skulls are the one thing I just can't put my finger on. I don't know what it is about skulls or when it started but I just love them. I have had my eyes on this skull tee since last February when I came across Love Without Measure at a pop up sale in the Custard Factory. I finally got my hands on it at the Clothes Show Live in December at the LWM stand and I just love it. My favourite pieces to wear it with are my black skinny jeans, pink tweed biker jacket and my black studded slouchy boots. I bought a monochrome asymmetric skirt recently which I am looking forward to wearing it with too.

WE BUILT THIS CITY

I really could wear black all year round... I posted a picture on instagram of my refreshed wardrobe for spring/summer and later on realised that majority of my clothes are black. I do wear black a lot because is just so chic and I love how striking it looks, however I do like to add a pop of colour to make a statement. My red and black check shirt is just so easy to wear, I love wearing it to work with my black jeans and biker jacket. I often layer my black gilet on top of the check shirt if i'm going shopping because I don't get too hot and always accessorise with some spikes and studs to add some edge.

HELLO LONDON FASHION WEEK

For my first fashion week I wanted to wear an outfit that was comfortable, warm and stylish but most of all reflected my personal style. I love taking girly pieces and combining it with some edge and a pop of colour. My pink scuba skirt is actually meant to be worn on the hips so I used a belt to cinch in my waist which also transformed my skirt into a paper bag style so I could wear my stripy crop top. I love my new biker jacket that Phil surprised me with on Valentines day as it really completes my outfit.

A LITTLE BIT OF LONDON FASHION WEEK

Fashion month is upon us and the second week of the shows is hosted in London. Last week I was stalking instagram to see the latest from New York Fashion Week however I attended day two of LFW to see the SIBLING show so instead of watching the show via instagram I got to see it in person. Going to London Fashion Week has always been a dream of mine and it finally came true.

The Sibling show was a look back on Joe, Sid and Cozette's teenage years. It included influence from Ireland, their families and the 70's, music had a large part to play as Temple of Love - Sisters of Mercy filled the room. The crafts of crochet, hand knit was combined with sophisticated machine knit to revitalise traditional techniques.

The team at Sibling spent hundreds of hours working by hand to create intricate and fine textures in the collection and this reflected on the catwalk. The collection was a beautiful array of crochet, long line fair isle dresses embellished with a kaleidoscope of crystals. I loved the Bernstock Speirs for Sibling glitter trimmed hats, they were my favourite accessories in the collection. I love how the collection brings traditional techniques into the now.

I loved my day as it was full of two of my favourite things, fashion and food. I scoffed on a delicious Shroom Burger at Shake Shack in Covent Garden before heading over to Somerset House for the Sibling Show and afterwards we went back to covent garden to drink tea and nibble on Macaroons, what a perfect way to spend the day.

FASHION WEEK ESSENTIALS

AW14 NYFW is over and that means that it is finally time for LFW. Today is the first day however I'm not hitting the cobbles at Somerset House until tomorrow so I thought I'd show you my essentials that I will be taking with me. This is my first fashion week so my essentials aren't chosen with experience however most of the items I am taking with me are my every day essentials that I carry around with me day to day so I know that I need them.

Okay so not an essential but my oufit won't be complete without accessories and my Thomas Sabo charm bracelet is definitely coming with me. I have a note pad and pens to take notes, my business cards, make up for touch ups, moisturiser and antibac and my gadgets iPad mini and Iphone. My show invite and I must not forget my train ticket.

Gadget accessories are a must, I have my charger for my iPad and my favourite gadget at the moment which uploads my snaps onto my iPad so I can get great quality shots and get them onto social networks instantly. I must not forget my invite to the Sibling show. I am very lucky to be going to fashion week as I won my tickets on twitter with Vodafone as part of the Vodafone Firsts. I never thought I would win and as Fashion Week has been a dream of mine since I was little I can't wait.

I'm not normally one to touch up my makeup, the only thing I top up in the day normally is my lips however I need to look my best at all times on Saturday (Weather please play nice) So I am taking powder, blush, lipstick, gloss and perfume with me.

SEEING STRIPES

As it is Valentines Day on Friday I thought I would show you how I styled my little black dress with a striped pencil skirt and tweed blazer for a date look, if you switched the flats for heels then you would have the perfect Valentines date night look too.

As you can see I have added my own twist to the outfit with my accessories. I love my studded belt, I actually wear it most days and it is a key staple in my wardrobe, here it is great for accentuating and bringing the attention back to my waist.

I think it is a great look for a date because it it girly but stylish and edgy at the same time. I know that my boyfriend loves this skirt so that is definitely a good sign. I love this outfit because it shows off my figure and it is really comfy.
